Salzburg, Austria

Salzburg literally means Salt castle. The city got its name because of the salt mines and the salt business it was involved in.

The birthplace of Mozart, Salzburg is indeed enchanting; It seems that everyone living in the city knows to play at least one musical instrument. And it appears to be true, when I visited the city. I could see that there were people playing different instruments in each and every street I went.

The fortress on top of mountain, the Mirabel garden (shown in the movie Sounds of Music), the Mozart square, the Getreidegasse street, Hellbrunn palace – all add to the beauty of this ‘Enchanting City’.
